Life is funny, isn’t it?

I grew up in a small town where everyone knew everyone. Most of my graduating class was together from kindergarten. I never really had to learn to meet new people until college.

Even then, my sister's friends took me under their wings. When I moved to Branson, it was by chance that I ended up where I am. And most of my friends are the people I work with so I guess I still haven't had to really learn how to meet people! But at least now I can recall a time before this place and these relationships! And boy, am I grateful!

Tonight I'm feeling extra grateful! We were just laughing and talking about life and once I was in my car, I was overwhelmed because I thought, “You know when you meet someone and you know they’re going to change your life? Seven years later and wow, they really have changed my life.” Yep. ❤️

Ya know, life just kind of happens. You meet someone. You learn their interests, their likes and dislikes. You learn their quirks. You get to the point where you can confide in them. You feel comfortable crying in front of them. You find that you can go to them for help with big decisions. You feel comfortable asking them for a ride without feeling like a burden. They are the first you call to celebrate your wins and the first you text to ask for prayers. And just like that, it's no longer just someone.

They are my best friends, my cheerleaders, my sounding boards, my source of laughter... They say you become like the five people you spend the most time with. Well, I'm pretty lucky to be like them.

It's kind of funny because seven years ago my mom and I had gone to see a show in Branson. And it was just in brief conversation after that I got an internship. And that internship has led to a full time job. And now I spend holidays, birthdays, and family dinners with them. So for me, remembering the time before that show and thinking of now, I am kind of in awe.

I don't believe life "just kind of happens". God definitely has a plan. And these people have played a very special role in the person that I have become.
